bye-bye rico...

i was attending a seminar last sunday morning, when adli sms me telling rico was dying - he was lying all the time, could not bring himself up and made weird sounds.

we didnt know the cause of death. he was active as usual when we were cleaning his cage couple of days before. only that he lost weight in less than a month but was in good appetite though.

after 2 years with us, rico - our hamster, died last sunday night, leaving cute memories for my kids.

dear hubby kata lepas ni jangan bela binatang lagi... bela orang je. ceh...

hamster new ride...

rhino, the hamster that runs around in a plastic ball really catch our eyes when we saw it in BOLT. it definitely reminds us our rico.

and dear hubby get so excited, he bought one for rico. here's rico in his new ride, went all over the house...

the 1st time i bought pet for adam and adli was in 2007 when they were still cute little babies around 6 weeks or so. the kids named them lilo and rico. time nak beli tu, promise bagai dgn mama - they will care them, clean the cage etc. last2 mama jugak yg kena buat kannn..

after lilo and rico became sexually mature, lilo begins her gestation period. i tell u that time around, she was really active and agressive. tgh2 preggy ni tak reti duduk diam. panjat cage la, running on the wheel la, lari sana sini dan suka sgt mengigit. tak boleh pegang sikit, sure kena gigit. (eh it rhymes pulak..). 1st delivery, lilo got 4 pups but sadly all died. i rasa la time ni lilo tak reti jaga anak lagi kot. but no worries as they are very productive creatures. lilo went through her gestation 3 times and throughout that period, she had like 14 babies. mak mmg tak sanggup nak jaga ye, sampai ada 3 cages kat rumah tu. so bila dah besar sikit, we sold them. ada jugak pet shop yang beli. sayang mmg sayang tapi nak buat camne... tak larat nak jaga cucu2 ni. byk sgt. u can see babies pics here...

one sad day, we found lilo drown in an open jar. yg peliknyer, how did she managed to squeeze out the cage. so now tinggal la rico.... (my dad kata "kesian rico sorang2. nape tak carikan teman...) tak payah!!!

last night, dear hubby let rico running around at the new place. nak bagi feel konon... ye la tu...

susahnyer nak amik muka si rico ni. lari mencicit laju tul la....

lilo... u'll be missed

lilo (adam's pet) drowned and died early this morning. it was unfortunate morning for lilo when she managed to escape and drowned. how'd this happen?

i wish i knew how ...

it came out of the cage;

get on to the floor from top of the table;

and went into a jar of water.

lilo, we will miss ...

watching u running up and down the cage;

watching u exercising on the wheel;

watching u biting the cage metal;

watching u playing with ur babies;

and everything about u...

who wants hamsters...

we bought a pair of "winter white" hamsters (also known as "siberian hamsters") for adam and adli in march this year and was named lilo (the female) and rico (the male). since then, lilo has given birth 3 times. 1st time all the babies died, probably she wasnt ready for babies.. (pandai2 je). 2nd time, about two months ago, she gave birth to 5 cuties. i cant tell the sexes yet. 3rd time, just last weekend, she gave birth to another 5 littles. see how productive she was.

anyway, i cant handle all so i need to let go of the babies. hubby says no but i say.. "allooo, who's gonna take care of the little babies plus the cleaning and the feeding??!!! makkk jugakkk!"

New babies...

Yup... I got new babies 2 months ago. Lilo is named by Adam (obviously from Lilo & Stitch) while Adli's is called Rico (ok this one, I can't recall).
