my old-new-good friends...

office work has been tailing me for the past 2 weeks. i was exhausted and caught with cough and cold, and took me almost 1 week to recover. i cant take leave as the boss was out of country. so strong-minded was all i needed.

also about 2 weeks ago, i had dinner meeting in subang jaya with my girlfriends; sha, kae and feeda, who i've known since school days. indeed, they are ...
  • old friends because the continuous friendships, which i treasured;
  • new friends because they share interesting new life experiences;
  • good friends because they value the meaning of friendships.
we chat, we laughed, we shared stories, it was a great night for me.

08-03-08 ... a night in PD

since it was my 1st time voting, i was feeling excited about it, i woke up rather early, walked to the voting place, which is merely 5 mins walking distance to the school, and by 830am, i was done. i'm so proud of myself. :D

before leaving for PD, we dropped by at shadiah's house to pick up the bbq pit & the food. shadiah and her family joined us around 8pm. the place we stayed, kemang indah condo at teluk kemang, was rather okay. it has full kitchen amenities, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living and dining hall, fully air-cond except for 1 bedroom not fuctioning and we were given a fan instead. overall, i would say the maintenance is really poor but what the heck.. it was only for 1 night and most of the time we were out either at the pool or the beach.

the condo is not a front beach so we had to drive to the nearest teluk kemang beach, famous with water activities like jet-ski, bana-boat, canoe and water-ski too. it was sunny.. clear blue sky.. the kids and their dad can't wait any longer, splashing in the warm waters while i enjoyed the view.

after the beach, we went back to the condo and kids went for another round of splashing at the pool. around 730pm, hubby and i set up the bbq pit and the food while waiting for shadiah and her family to arrive. it was a great fun night for me celebrating my birthday, having a delicious bbq dinner, by the pool side with my loved ones, together with my good friend shadiah and her family. the kids enjoyed themselves at the playground, the dads busy grilling the chicken, beef, lamb and sausages while the mums busy preparing the table for food to come. all the meats were marinated by sha or is it ajees??? well, like sha said.. "if it taste good, it must be me.. but if it's not, ajees is the one.." overall, it was superb!!! ... oh there was also another indian group having a bbq birthday party, on that election night, which interestingly we had some conversations about the election with them... especially on SV issues...

the kids woke up very early on the next day to swim at the pool. i went for a quick dip too after being lovingly force by hubby. we checked out at 12pm, went again to the beach, bought kites for the kids but sadly the kites went round and round, up and down although the wind was blowing. blame it on the kite... after lunch, we went to ostrich farm before heading home.

i had a great time.. enjoyed every minute of it.

08-03-08... 2008 election

following the result of 2008 election last saturday night, Selangor will now have new menteri besar, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim from PKR. not only that, we will also see new form of government after BN was denied the 2/3 parliamentary seats, which they managed to secure 140 seats over 222.

after reading PKR manifesto, we hope to see what changes and development can be brought to the interest of rakyat. the new designated menteri besar gave assurance to have an efficient, clean and trustworthy administration and bring a new era in the administration as promised to rakyat. adding to that, they will work for the interest of people, which including justice, fairness, democracy and human rights. click here for more...

yesterday, as i was reaching home from my short holiday in PD, i was surprised to see crowds gathered at one of SUK's (Selangor State Secretariat building) entrance and police were everywhere to make sure no riots.

this morning, i snap one of SUK's entrance.
see that building, it's the SUK. police forces are on duty at the canopy far behind... and see that 2 guys in black & white tee standing at the divider.. they are from the PKR/PAS on watch-duty...

i'm a liberal. i look forward for positive changes. what most paramount is stability in political, peace and better future for malaysia.

adam's plan...

early this year adam chose Tunas Kadet Remaja (TKR) as his co-curriculum uniform units and i am yet to buy his uniform as the activities will only start in april. last night after adam finished mengaji at my neighbour's house, he came into my room and told me about the school's camping program in Pahang, which is part of co-curriculum activities for all uniform units. he expressed his interest, which i am happy to hear, but was taken aback when he said he has already registered himself to participate in the program. hmmm... eagerness without approval can be risky sometimes especially to his dad. as a mum, of course seeing his enthusiasm, i would considerately approve but at the end, final approval will come from his abah. now waiting for the school to provide the parents a formal letter and decision will be known later.

what interest me was adam raised the money matters for this camping program, which i assume he would think the mum will say yes...

adam: mama, camping ni kena bayar tapi tak la banyak...

mama: really... how much??..

adam: seringgit je!...

mama: (biar betul??!!) eh betul ke ni? ok takpe. we wait for the letter from school ok...

adam: ok. hopeful abah kata ok. adam nak sangat pergi mama..

mama: ok ok.. mama discuss dengan abah dulu..

i'm contemplating... should i let my 10 years old boy go camping in Pahang with the school.. will the school allow parents to tag along??.. why cant they just camp at the school??...

for the 1st time...

i attended PIBG meeting at my kids' school last saturday, March 01. nothing much to argue except for this one particular concerned father who questioned over the expenditure of school's tables, chairs and toilet doors. i can say the YDP of PIBG has done tremendous job in updating the parents most on school situations.

PKSR 1 starts today for adam & adli. hope they will do well.

coming 8 march is going to be an exciting date for me. i am going to vote for the 1st time. for the past election years, i didnt get a chance to vote thanks to SPR, as they failed to update my information despite several times of re-registration and my details went to pandamaran, klang state assemblies. so excuse me...

... and this year's 1st term school holiday will start a day before the polling day on friday, 7 march instead of 8 march, to facilitate those voters to exercise their voting rights. right after voting, i'll be going off for a very short break with my family.

... besides the voting, i am going to be a year older than last year coming this saturday. what a feeling!!!

selamat mengundi!!!
